In this video, appropriate for young and adult students, Jo Boaler and her students share the following messages about learning math:

Everyone can learn math to high levels. Everyone is a math person.

Believe in yourself. Beliefs in your own abilities change the ways your brain works when you do math.

Struggle and mistakes are really important. Our brains grow when we make mistakes.

Speed is not important. It’s more important to think creatively and visually. Many mathematicians do math slowly, since they think about problems deeply.
